Animals & Agriculture
The Dutchess County Fair is the showplace for agriculture in Dutchess County. Just as farmers gathered together at our founding fairs two hundred years ago, they still come together today to show their prize cattle and display the best of their crops. Even as the face of agriculture changes, the Dutchess County Agricultural Society, Inc. continues its commitment to "preserving, protecting, and promoting" the agricultural integrity of this great fair.
Thousands of farm animals representing nearly a dozen different species are transported from farm to fair for competition and display. All the best of Dutchess County farm-grown produce makes the trip from garden to fairgrounds, as well.
Some of the special Agricultural Attractions include:
- Salute to Agriculture Pavilion and Dairy Birthing Center (see a calf born)
